Malka Golden-Wolfe started painting in Malibu California in 1980 after having a profound life experience which directed her to start expressing the images that came from within. She has studied Goddess culture, Native Indian cultures of the Southwest and Hassidic Judaism. Her work reflects these themes and visions.
The title of her works, “Yourgasms by Malka,” reflects the essence of her paintings which are explosions of energy found in the people, environments and cultures she has experienced. The Eye in several of her paintings depicts The Divine Spirit which is always present and watching our lives.
While living in Malibu, Malka painted the Goddess and Native Indian themes. After another life changing event Malka moved to West Hollywood and began painting Judaic images. She was inspired to capture the hidden meaning of the Hebrew letters and began painting the Hebrew alphabet. This project took her seven years to complete as she waited for the understanding through her practice of Hassidism to complete the paintings. In search of tranquility, Malka moved to Sedona and completed the Hebrew Alphabet. While living in Sedona she spent her summers in Anacortes, Washington visiting with family and exploring the beautiful Northwest. In 2000, Malka permanently relocated to Anacortes.
All of Malka’s paintings express the energies of the cultures she has been a part of along with the visions and images received from her participation in their rituals and ceremonies. Over the past thirty years she has also visited 51 countries and every state in America which has broadened her perspective and enriched her work.
Malka’s work has been shown in centers and galleries and universities in Northern and Southern California, Sedona, Arizona, and London, England.
